ABOUT US
Blackland Cane Corso was founded in 2020 by Chloe Smith when her first litter was born. Chloe had spent a decade working with various rescue organizations all over the country. She noticed that the majority of dogs all had the same problem- they were terribly bred. Her initial passion was with “Pitbull” type dogs but she wanted to own dogs with more of an edge, purpose and natural guardian tendencies. She started doing hours of countless research which lead her to the Cane Corso. It was a match made in heaven. She purchased her very first Cane Corso in 2017. She was captivated by the breed and never looked back. Since then, she has been mentored and educated by some of the very best in the breeding community.
The focus of the kennel is to produce a traditional, unadulterated Cane Corso with a focus on traits that made the breed famous. These dogs are in the working group and we want to keep it that way. Over the years the Corso has been watered down by a variety of causes and one of our goals is to fix that. We want to bring the traditional, working Corso back! Chloe wants to preserve as much of the tradition as she can while producing remarkable, healthy Corsos. The kennel concentrates its efforts around athleticism, structure, traditional temperament, and solid guardianship. She is determined to honor and create the very best Corso she can while having the breed stay as close to its original purpose and roots as possible.
Blackland Cane Corso is located outside of Austin, TX in the small rural city of Cedar Creek. The kennel is located on 70 acres with ample room for the dogs to exercise and explore. We have indoor and outdoor kennels. The dogs are worked, trained, exposed to cows, horses, heavy machinery, gun shots, fireworks, and a variety of other rural scenarios. They enjoy the country lifestyle as much as we do!
